HR Manager – 8 Month FTC
St Albans (Hybrid), £65,000 pro rata + bonus
We are currently partnering with a well-established and growing organisation based in St Albans to recruit an experienced HR Manager on an 8-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on HR professional to make a real impact across the full employee lifecycle within a fast-paced environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the HR Director, you will take ownership of a broad range of HR activities, ensuring best practice, compliance, and a high-quality employee experience across the business. This role requires a confident self-starter who can drive initiatives through to completion with precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert support on employee relations matters and coach managers
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and partner with managers on hiring needs
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and lead HR audits (e.g. RTW, GDPR, IR35)
- Produce HR reports and insights using HRIS data
- Act as HRIS lead, maintaining data accuracy and improving system functionality
- Support salary benchmarking, pay reviews, and benefits processes
- Drive performance management and support learning & development initiatives
About You
- Proven HR Manager experience across the full employee lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience with HRIS systems (ideally Cascade/IRIS) and data reporting
- Demonstrated success managing recruitment, audits, and ER cases
- High attention to detail with a “completer-finisher” mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
