A government body is seeking an experienced Workplace Project Lead to project manage and provide day-to-day leadership for key workplace change and relocation projects across the council’s corporate estate. The role will involve working collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards, while supporting the council’s wider transformation agenda, including its Stands Together programme.
Duties will include leading and delivering workplace and relocation projects, coordinating contractors and suppliers, managing project governance and reporting processes, engaging with senior stakeholders, ensuring compliance with health & safety and sustainability requirements, and supporting staff communication and transition activities throughout periods of workplace change.
Based in the Southwark area, South East London – hybrid with 3 days per week in the office. This is a contract role for initially 26 weeks (36 hours per week) from approximately 22nd December and paying £57 per hour, less deductions for insurance, taxes and umbrella company charges (PAYE £40.99 per hour). The closing date is Friday, 19th December.
To be suitable for this role, you must have strong project management experience within workplace, facilities management, property or similar environments, ideally within a large, complex organisation or local authority. You will need excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, proven experience delivering refurbishment, relocation or workplace transformation projects, and a structured approach to managing risks, budgets and timelines. Experience in Facilities Management, Property or Workplace Strategy teams is advantageous but not essential.
