Strategic Partnership Director

We’re seeking an experienced strategic leader to help drive the growth of a high-profile data & digital practice working at the intersection of technology, infrastructure, and societal impact. This role is ideal for someone passionate about shaping partnerships, building influence, and driving forward national priorities through innovation and collaboration.

You’ll engage with senior stakeholders across government, industry, and academia, convene expert communities, and lead initiatives that drive systemic change. Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and develop high-impact partnerships across public and private sectors, including government agencies, regulators, academia, technology SMEs, utilities, and insurance companies.
  • Contribute to revenue growth that funds mission-led programmes and maximises societal impact.
  • Represent the organisation in national forums, industry groups, and policy-shaping initiatives.
  • Lead strategic bids, partnerships, and propositions aligned with national priorities, including the UK’s Industrial Strategy.
  • Activate expert communities and coalitions to shape innovative, funded programmes and drive policy influence.
  • Oversee the digital twin hub and affiliated networks, advancing data-led approaches to infrastructure and place-based resilience.
  • Develop and execute strategies to embed the data & digital practice within key external ecosystems.
  • Contribute to quarterly planning cycles, KPIs, and performance frameworks.

About You

  • Proven experience working across both public and private sectors, with a strong understanding of regulated markets such as utilities or infrastructure.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and business development skills across sectors.
  • Understanding of data/digital policy, smart infrastructure, or technology-driven public services.
  • Track record of designing and delivering strategic partnerships, account growth, or ecosystem development.
  • Comfortable operating in complex, ambiguous environments; able to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in innovation, policy, or public-interest technology sectors is highly desirable.
