A leading global software company is seeking a hands on Technical Project Manager who has intimate knowledge of software projects using Agile methodologies, especially understanding and explaining ETAs.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days a week in the company’s Wandsworth office and 2 days you’ll work from home. The role is paying up to £80,000 plus very good benefits.
In this role you’ll define software project objectives, handling the before and after the sprint, not the sprint itself. You'll pull together the external resources (usually IT based) before the sprint kicks off, and then manage the release management after the sprint concludes. You'll unearth, investigate and understand dependencies with a view to maintaining the software project plans, milestones, and budgets.
You’ll also:
- Address risks, issues and problems, and report progress to management stakeholders on a recurring basis
- Anticipate and act upon raising concerns with urgency.
- Ensure project members are accountable for the quality and timeliness of their deliveries.
- Ability to identify and resolve cross functional and cross product interdependencies.
- Need to work successfully and effectively with varying types of personalities and geological locations.
- Accurately assess and communicate health of projects under way
- Ensure decisions are made in a timely manner ensuring smooth flow of project activities
- Create a positive working environment for the project team where people will work towards a common goal
- Closely manage critical path activities and remove bottlenecks before they materialize
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings to understand the demand and need of the project
- Manage trade-offs in order to ensure project success
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Agile methodologies managing digital or software projects.
- Must be well-versed in risk management, project planning, project estimation, and project monitoring.
- Proven experience with successful product releases processes such as Shrink-wrapped enterprise software, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Salesforce, and JIRA
- Be a member of sprint preparedness activities as a part of project delivery team.
- Be bold – identify and communicate misses where the team needs to pivot as well as underserved opportunities where the team should take greater risks and push forward
- Ability to build a common goal for the team get behind
- Great communication – you can “translate” bilaterally across business stakeholders, design colleagues and development and engineering teams
- Experience working across multiple disciplines to influence policies procedures and practices
- Proven track record in managing complex software product development successfully.
- Ability and comfort level to present to challenging audiences
- Expert knowledge of SCRUM, and AGILE development processes
- Practical knowledge in CICD and software product life cycle.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and Project Professional, as well as the ability to understand and implement new tools as necessary and appropriate
