A government body is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor (Technical) to provide an independent and objective assurance and consulting service to the Council to improve its operations and accomplish its objectives and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. It will also involve maintaining effective controls by evaluating their effectiveness and efficiency and by promoting continuous improvement. The role holder will be responsible for:
- Directly supervising, mentoring and training internal auditors, both in an office environment and remotely due to agile working.
- Co-ordinating and prioritising the work of the internal auditors in order to achieve the internal audit plan.
- Deputising in the absence of Audit Leads
Based in the Wrexham area. This is a contract role for initially 12 weeks (37 hours per week) from approximately 3rd November and paying £25.33 per hour, less deductions for insurance, taxes and umbrella company charges (PAYE £19.81 per hour). The closing date is Friday, 24th October.
To be suitable for this role, you must be both AAT and Practitioner in the Institute of Internal Auditors (PIIA ) / Certified Internal Auditor (CIA ) qualified. It is essential to have proven experience in a Local Government internal audit environment, with a proven track record of internal audit work covering risk-based audits of Council Services and ICT Audits.
