An established reputable accounting firm in Winchester, Hampshire (commutable from parts of Wiltshire, Surrey, & Berkshire) is looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with proven practice experience to join as a Portfolio Manager. This office-based role offers 1 day working from home and the chance to step beyond standard reporting duties into a genuinely varied mix of client-facing work, portfolio oversight, and team development.
You’ll manage a portfolio of clients, predominantly on monthly retainers — acting as part of their extended finance team to provide both high-level and low-level support across management and accounting services. You’ll be confident leading meetings with senior stakeholders from day one, while also playing a proactive role in supporting and developing junior staff, aided by a team of portfolio assistants. We’re looking for someone friendly, happy to help, and ambitious, with the ability to hit the ground running.
This Portfolio Manager role is paying £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience, plus a profit-share bonus, pension, 25 days’ holiday, and a clear pathway to grow into a Senior Management role. It is worth noting that while my client’s primary focus is to recruit permanently, they are open to candidates interested in a temporary / interim appointment in the meantime.
