An international bank based in the City of London is looking to appoint a Middle Office Assistant to join its team.
This is a hybrid role (three days per week in the office and two from home) and is best suited to someone early in their banking career with around 2+ years’ hands-on experience within middle office or client-facing banking operations. The bank is specifically seeking practical middle office exposure rather than purely back-office processing experience.
This is a junior-level opportunity offering long-term development within a stable and structured international banking environment. It would suit someone keen to build depth in middle office operations and progress steadily within the organisation.
As the Middle Office Assistant, you will work closely with Operations, Sales and Treasury teams. Your responsibilities will include opening and maintaining client accounts, processing deposits, withdrawals and transfers, supporting KYC/AML checks, monitoring transactions in line with internal controls, and responding to account-related queries. You will also assist with documentation for non-routine transactions and ensure all client records are accurate and up to date.
The successful candidate will have:
-
2+ years’ experience within middle office or client-facing banking operations
-
A solid understanding of banking processes, controls and regulatory requirements
-
Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
-
Confidence liaising with both internal stakeholders and clients
-
Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
Knowledge of SWIFT payment processing would be beneficial but is not essential.
The salary on offer is £33,000 – £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience. This role is ideally suited to someone currently operating at a similar level who is looking for stability, structured progression and long-term growth within an international bank.
