Responsibilities:
As the Operations and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire import/export process and ensuring the company's compliance with all legal requirements, rules, duties, and taxes. Your role will be integral in coordinating and managing third-party logistics and distribution partners, conducting regular supplier reviews, and implementing suggested improvements to optimize efficiency. You will also work to secure contracts with key partners to ensure smooth operations.
Your responsibilities will include daily packing, booking, and managing all dispatches, both domestic and international, ensuring all paperwork and tracking numbers are accurately recorded in our internal system. You will liaise with our tech/design providers to create new customer stores on our portal, manually input orders when necessary, and resolve client queries related to dispatch. Moreover, you will actively manage our web portal stock, adjusting inventory as needed and notifying sales contacts of low stock levels.
As the Operations and Logistics Manager, you will be in charge of coordinating in-house packing jobs and arranging additional resources if required. You will also handle 3rd party collections from suppliers both within the UK and internationally. Resolving client queries regarding non-delivery and overseeing goods-in procedures, including forklift driving when necessary, will also be part of your responsibilities.
Your attention to detail and organisational skills will extend to keeping our warehouse well-organized, tidy, and labelled for easy access to orders. You will also be responsible for waste management and coordinating skip hire as needed. Additionally, you will manage sample storage, ensuring their proper handling and safekeeping.
To be suitable for this role you will need:
- Proven experience in logistics and operations management, preferably in import/export.
- Strong understanding of import/export regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for tracking and managing logistics processes.
- Ability to work independently, make data-driven decisions, and take initiative to drive efficiency.
