A medium-sized construction firm based in Clerkenwell who've been established for over 35 years is seeking a personable, detail-oriented, and assertive Financial Controller to join their team permanently! This role requires you to be onsite 5 days a week.
Reporting to the Financial Director, within this role you will be given a lot of autonomy, especially concerning exciting modernisation projects for accounting systems, where you will evaluate and review current policies and processes and see their efficiency, and look at ways to improve this. You will be managing a team of 4 people below you, and it'll be your responsibility to bring the team together and boost morale within the Finance Department! There is also an opportunity to move into a Partner position over time.
You will be responsible for the business's financial statements and monthly management accounts, budgeting, and forecasting. This role is 50% operational and 50% strategic, so you must have proven experience in both areas. You will also review and check the weekly payroll, including overseeing PAYE, CIS, and pension payments. You will also work with Contracts Managers in relation to valuations, invoicing, and contract inquiries. You will also be required to train and supervise staff within the accounts team and ensure coverage for these roles when required.
