An established bank based in the City of London are looking for a proactive Financial Accountant with hedge accounting experience to join their team.
Please note, this role offers hybrid working - three days per week in the office and two days per week working from home.
This role would suit someone with experience within banking finance, regulatory reporting, or financial accounting, ideally within the banking or financial services sector. Perhaps you are currently working as a Financial Accountant, Regulatory Accountant, Reporting Accountant, or Finance Analyst, and are now looking to develop your career further within a finance team supporting day-to-day reporting, regulatory submissions, and hedge accounting responsibilities. As the Financial Accountant, you will join a friendly and collaborative team and work closely with the Head of Finance. Your key responsibilities will include preparing the daily P&L with variance analysis and commentary, preparing financial statements and supporting external audits, completing regulatory submissions to the Bank of England and the PRA, assisting with Corporation Tax and VAT preparation and submissions, ensuring compliance with FSCS rules and reporting requirements, performing control and reconciliation checks on Flexcube data, investigating and resolving accounting queries within the branch Trial Balance, contributing to finance projects and process improvement initiatives, and assisting with hedge accounting entries, documentation, and IFRS 9 compliance.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within a banking finance function or regulated financial services environment, hedge accounting experience, knowledge of PRA/BoE reporting, FSCS, and statutory reporting, be a qualified or near-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA), and have strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. You will be proactive, confident, and curious, with excellent attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills, and a strong team-player mindset.
The salary on offer is £55,000 – £60,000 per annum, plus a benefits package.
