Finance Assistant
Location: London - Hybrid working
Salary: £45- 48,500
We are currently recruiting for a proactive and detail-driven Finance Assistant to join a well-established professional organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in finance operations who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting a broad range of financial processes including invoice management, budgeting support, reconciliations, and general finance administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Entering and maintaining accurate financial records and data
- Processing staff and external expense claims
- Processing purchase and sales invoices in the finance system
- Recording receipts for membership, and product sales
- Matching, batching, and coding invoices accurately
- Liaising with suppliers and internal colleagues to resolve financial queries
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Tracking and monitoring budgets for events and travel
- Setting up new suppliers and employees on the accounting system
- Performing reconciliations and checks on financial ledgers
- Providing general administrative and finance support as needed
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Experience in a finance operational or administrative finance role
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel - advanced)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels
- High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Desirable:
- AAT part-qualified or fully qualified
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
