The Ashdown Group has been commissioned by The Earthshot Prize to identify an outstanding Events Coordinator to join its team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The Earthshot Prize is the most ambitious and prestigious global environment prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. The Prize’s mission is to unleash urgent optimism and action through storytelling and spotlighting eco-innovators around the world.
Taking inspiration from the Moonshot, the Prize is based on 5 ‘Earthshots’ – simple but ambitious and universal goals for 2030, focusing on nature, air pollution, oceans, waste, and climate, and if achieved will make life better for all. The five annual winners of the Prize are those whose solutions make the most progress towards these goals.
The inaugural Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony was held in London, in October 2021. The broadcast event has already won a number of prizes for its innovative portrayal of the Awards. In 2022 the Earthshot Prize Awards will be held in the USA in the late Autumn. The Events Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Events Manager and wider team to assist in delivering all events for The Earthshot Prize including the Awards.
In order to be suitable for this role you must be a highly capable Events Coordinator with proven experience of delivering high-quality events and media moments. You will have outstanding communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage projects with numerous dependencies. You will be recognised for your sound judgement and professionalism and be a logical, calm, discrete, proactive problem solver with the ability to work at pace whilst balancing competing priorities.
The Events Coordinator will be responsible for managing guestlists and guest communications for all Earthshot Prize events, the design and creation of resources such as save the dates, invitations, event packs and branded resources. They will assist in the development and maintenance of detailed operational plans, helping to keep projects on track. They will assist in making logistical arrangements for the team, the finalists and others when travelling to international events, and assist in writing briefing notes for the internal team and VIPs. They will also liaise with venues and other suppliers, ensuring they meet the highest levels of sustainability.
