A government body is seeking an experienced Debt Recovery Assistant / Accounts Receivable Officer to support the Debt Recovery Officer with the collection of outstanding Taxation, Housing Benefits Overpayments and Sundry Debt. Duties will include reconciling the system, pursuing the recovery of debts, responding to all customer enquiries, working with external partner debt collection agency, and managing direct debits.
Based in the Esher area, South West London. This is a contract role for initially 20 weeks (36 hours per week) from approximately 20th October and paying £25.79 per hour, less deductions for insurance, taxes and umbrella company charges (PAYE £20.16 per hour). The closing date is Tuesday, 14th October.
To be suitable for this role, you must have proven experience in a Debt Recovery Assistant, Accounts Receivable Officer, Sales Ledger Clerk, Credit Controller or similar accounts receivable role in a complex organisation, ideally in a Borough or Council environment. It is essential to have proven debt management / recovery experience, including dealing with debt recovery agents / solicitors. Any experience with CIVICA Financials, would be highly desireable, but not essential.
