A global insurance firm is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Data Governance & Quality Lead to join their Data & Analytics team. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, and promoting best practices across the organization. You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data analysts to enhance the accessibility, accuracy, and integrity of the firm’s data.
This role is paying up to £65,000 plus great benefits and is fully remote/work from home.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive data governance strategy and framework to ensure compliance, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Establish data quality standards, policies, and procedures.
- Define and enforce data policies, data classification standards, and data security protocols to ensure the proper handling of organizational data.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across business units to understand data requirements and challenges.
- Oversee data stewardship activities, and develop and track key data quality metrics
- Ensure data governance and quality initiatives comply with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Provide training, awareness, and support to teams on data governance policies, tools, and practices.
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of data governance and quality tools (e.g., data cataloguing, data profiling, data cleansing solutions).
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance data governance processes and improve data quality across the organization.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of governance frameworks, data definitions, and quality standards.
Required skills/experience:
- Significant experience in data governance, data quality, or data management roles (ideally within professional services preferably within the insurance sector but this is not essential)
- Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks, best practices, and data quality management principles,
- Experience with data management tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or similar platforms).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage projects, and drive consensus across diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Experience in data profiling, cleansing, and metadata management is a plus.
