A leading global insurance company is looking for an experienced Business Analyst with experience of working across regulatory data projects. Flexible working is available for this role with occasional travel into either the Birmingham or London offices. 

This is a new role for the company's Ceded Reinsurance division. The role will focus on supporting the IFRS17 project team to ensure the key reinsurance deliverables are met in line with the overall project timeline, and secondly you will become an SME of the Ceded Reinsurance systems and data flows to assist with the implementation of a new reinsurance platform.

The salary available for this one is up to £80,000 plus an excellent benefits package.

Key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Capture business requirements for process and data
  • Analyse the reinsurance existing process and systems to obtain the data required to populate the reference and mapping tables within the new system.
  • Analyse treaties, policy data, mapping tables and client systems in order to obtain data to populate the required system tables.
  • Prepare business requirement document for process and system enhancements
  • Prepare and undertake where necessary test case for User Acceptance Testing.
  • Acquire skills required to become a Super User for all components of the system being implemented
  • Provide support on new process and system functionality (capabilities, structures, business advice)

To be considered suitable you must have a background as a BA within an insurance environment along with the following:

  • Knowledge of Ceded Reinsurance contracts, with demonstrable experience of reinsurance related projects
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Data (analysis, mapping etc) and reinsurance contracts (including facultative and treaty documents).
  • Experience of data driven regulatory programmes e.g. SII, GDPR, IFRS
  • Experience of working Lloyd’s market 
  • Ability to produce high quality documentation (requirements, workflows) and workshops.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledgeable about data governance, standards, lineage, stewardship, controls
  • Experience with data analysis tools and the use of relational databases. This includes understanding relational data models, database design/development, data validation, data linkage, data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques. Data mining and segmentation techniques is also useful.
  • Exposure to:
    • MS SQL Server, and SQL query development
    • Preliminary analysis/modelling via Excel
    • Power BI or other Business intelligence and analytics platforms
