A well-established, international business operating within the technology and consumer goods sector is looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join its Finance team.
This is a permanent, full-time, office-based position located at the company’s head office near Wembley, London. The role is suited to a detail-focused and reliable finance professional with around 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or management accounting, looking to build on their existing experience in a structured, hands-on finance environment. Candidates must live locally or within a reasonable commuting distance, as the role is fully site-based.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day delivery of accurate financial reporting across the Group’s UK and European operations. This is a predominantly operational role with a strong emphasis on month-end processes, reporting accuracy, and maintaining robust financial controls within a well-established finance function.
Key responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and posting journals including accruals, prepayments, and standard month-end adjustments. You will also support the month-end close process, prepare VAT returns for UK and European entities, produce weekly cashflow reports, and assist with the annual audit process by ensuring supporting documentation is accurate and provided on time. In addition, you will work closely with the wider Finance team to maintain and improve ERP systems and reporting processes, supporting efforts to enhance accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. The role will also involve managing day-to-day finance activities such as staff expenses, credit card reconciliations, sales commission calculations for payroll, and rebate provisions.
The successful candidate will be degree-educated in Accounting or Finance and part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), with 3–5 years’ experience in a finance or management accounting environment. Exposure to multi-entity or European businesses and inventory accounting would be advantageous. You will be organised, dependable, and detail-oriented, with a methodical approach to your work and the ability to manage routine deadlines effectively. Strong IT skills are essential, including experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel. Exposure to Power BI would be beneficial but is not essential.
This role offers the opportunity to further develop core management accounting skills within a stable and well-structured finance team, working closely with an experienced Finance Manager in a supportive environment.
The salary on offer is £45,000 – £55,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
