A large and growing company in the insurance sector is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join its IT team in Birmingham.
This is an exciting new role that will involve leading on the definition, documentation, selection and communication of technology solutions in a global organisation.
The Solution Architect role is paying a starting salary of £65,000 - £80,000 plus an excellent benefits package.
Day to day duties will involve:
- Analysing business requirements and defining solution options
- Aligning solutions to the business technology strategy and ensuring solutions meet business needs
- Challenging existing technology and solutions
- Documenting architectural decisions and designs
- Provide advice and guidance on industry trends and developments
- Working with multiple stakeholders both internally and externally including Analysts, Vendors, Change Delivery Data and Infrastructure staff etc.
To be considered suitable for this IT Solutions Architect role you will need to have similar experience in such a high level role as well the following skills and experience:
- Knowledge of frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman and PEAF
- Good knowledge of information practices
- Good understanding of modelling tools such as Avolution Abacus and Sparx Enterprise Architect with ability to display ideas graphically
- Ability to challenge an organisations technology and solutions
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate business needs into architectural requirements
- Good understanding of financials surrounding solutions
- Knowledge of business re-engineering principles and processes
- Broad exposure to multiple and diverse technologies
