A Luxury Travel Company is seeking an Applications Developer (specifically someone with strong hands-on Sitecore development experience) to work as part of an agile development team reporting to the the company’s Development Manager. The role will be varied including application development using the latest tools and technologies and supporting feature enhancement for existing applications and business users.

The company is based in Hammersmith but the role will be 3 days work from home and 2 days working from in the office but this is flexible for the right candidate if necessary. Remote working with occasional office visits could be a possibility. The role is paying up to £85,000 plus very good benefits.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for key site functionality and input into new technical design
  • Understand and practice coding standards and recommending / implementing new technologies
  • Engage with stakeholders when required to further detail initial requirements
  • Deliver code which is well tested and consistently error free
  • Reviewing user stories and defining acceptance tests
  • Code review and support other team member’s work
  • Be part of a team of software developers’ team
  • Keep up to date with the latest software development technologies and methodologies
  • Interpret business requirements and build them into working solutions
  • Planning and co-ordinating UAT activities

 

Essential knowledge:

  • Experience and sizable knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Strong knowledge of  ASP .Net framework and Sitecore 9
  • Strong understanding of Apache Solr
  • Azure Cloud knowledge
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Good understanding of back-end integrations and API development
  • Strong understand of relational databases such as SQL
  • DevOps / Git
  • Automation experience for web apps
  • Good understanding of agile & other testing methodologies
  • Good understanding of Web Performance and Optimisation

 

Nice to Have, but not Essential:

  • Experience in working with infrastructure as code and configuration management
  • Understand of test automation and testing approaches
  • Knowledge of using browser stack
  • knowledge of a framework such as React, Node js
  • Experience working with SEO Tools such as GA, Screaming Frog
