A market-leading Software Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer contractor with at least 5 years development experience in a technical role. The requirement is for a maternity cover role for 6 months initially which could be extended if required (up to 12 months potentially).
This contract will be inside IR35, will require 2 days in the office per week and 3 days work from home (the office is based in Wandsworth, SW London). The contract is paying a day rate of £350-£450 depending on experience. They are looking for someone to start in the role from the beginning of March 2024.
As a minimum, you must have:
- Practical experience of working as a senior developer, part of a structured professional software development environment.
- Deep experience developing and maintaining C#/.NET REST APIs, and writing enterprise-scale Web 2.0 applications.
- Good knowledge of how and when to use design patterns to achieve strong Object-Oriented architectures in .NET
- Strong diagnostic/debug skills and a methodical approach to problem solving.
- Good in-depth knowledge of Client/Server and Web architectures on Windows, using SQL Server and tools such as nHibernate, ODATA, EntityFramework, WebAPI in VisualStudio, Parsing, querying and manipulation of XML/XSLT and JSON payloads.
- Experience with source control and build processes: branching, merging, one-push-build processes, configuration management.
- Well versed with Visual Studio, .NET , C#, AspNet, Linq
- Strong experience of Database Design, SQL Server, and T-SQL.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Education at Degree level or equivalent; or possess highly relevant experience.
Nice to haves:
- Experience implementing OData services.
- Experience implementing data accessing code using ORMs (EF, NHibernate…)
- Experience of Database Design, SQL Server, and T-SQL, SQL profiling and performance tuning.
- Some experience of build and installer scripting (nant/WiX/Windows Installer)
- Able to work quickly, accurately, and flexibly towards defined deadlines.
