The Earthshot Prize is the most ambitious and prestigious global environment prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. The Prize’s mission is to unleash urgent optimism and action through storytelling and spotlighting eco-innovators around the world.
The Earthshot Prize (TEP) is now looking for a Senior Media Relations Manager to play a critical role in delivering this extraordinary vision. In this hugely exciting role, you will have the opportunity to shape and implement the overall media relations strategy, making the Prize and the Finalists globally famous, generating worldwide optimism and action as a result.
You will have a genuine passion for conservation, with a belief in the power of storytelling to inspire optimism, and shape hearts and minds worldwide. You are agile, thriving in a fast-paced environment, and a team-player, collaborative in your approach, yet pro-active, able to take a lead and problem-solve where required.
To be suitable for this role you must have proven experience of delivering a professional media communications and engagement strategy. You will be enthusiastic about creating content to engage global media and will compose and edit impactful press releases, web articles and copy for social media channels. You’ll have worked in a high-profile press office environment, in-house and/or agency side, and be comfortable managing your own relationships with the media.
You will have a track record of maximising media engagement and press coverage and will field enquiries around key moments in the TEP calendar. You will also have a meticulous eye for detail and demonstrable experience in conceptualizing, packaging and delivering content that excites and engages global media outlets.
Reporting to the Director of Media, you will combine the ability to write and develop powerful copy, with the interpersonal skills required to build and influence relationships with key stakeholders, including journalists, global media contacts and external partners. You will also have excellent sub-editing, proofreading and design management skills, coupled with the ability to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of media campaigns.
The successful candidate will have experience in developing content in an integrated way – from writing press materials and pitching stories to global media outlets to developing creative activations and social media content which can engage both media and public audiences alike.
The Earthshot Prize is committed to building a diverse team that is representative of all sections of society and to sustaining a culture that celebrates difference, encourages authenticity, and creates a deep sense of belonging. They recognise that by encouraging innovative and creative ways of thinking and fostering an inclusive culture they will collaborate more effectively and achieve better outcomes.
