Successful UK business, established over 40 years and with turnover of circa £40 million, is looking for an ambitious, commercially minded senior Management Accountant to join the team and with a view to joining the financial leadership team also.
This role is hands on management accounting, transactional analysis and reporting, whilst also offering the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Finance on a range of strategic projects. You also maintain an overview of the day to day accounting in the department, offering guidance or help if needed to those in the team.
Whilst you do not manage the team, made up of circa 12 finance professionals, you will supervise and mentor, taking a leading role in the department, deputising for the Head of Finance as required and with the view of stepping up after a proven period, up into more of a Finance Manager / Financial Controller role.
In addition to the management accounting, you will:
- Prepare revenue and cost statements
- Distribute statements to client contacts, managing any queries around these
- Regularly reconcile statement to accounting balances and settled amounts
- Work closely with the team to support onboarding of new clients, helping establish the commercial terms of new agreements and incorporating these into client statements.
To secure this role you will be ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified, be experienced of operating in a fast paced commercial finance environment, be knowledgeable around the latest accountancy technology and be adept at analysing transactions and confident in making recommendations to improve processes. To stand out, you will have strong excel skills and also be adept at building relationships with your colleagues and wider stakeholders.
The basic starting salary for this is £57,000 - £70,000, plus generous discretionary bonus. To secure the top end of this salary scale, you should have good experience managing or supervising a team and a strong commercial transactional finance background.
