Senior Finance Assistant - Hybrid Working - £50,000pa

A highly successful, award-winning Law firm with offices in the UK & Europe are looking for a Senior Finance Assistant to join the team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The role offers hybrid working (3 days per week in their Central London office and 2 days per week working from home).

The ideal candidate will be available for an immediate start and will have experience working in a similar role within the legal sector (desirable) or finance or professional services sectors.

As the Senior Finance Assistant, reporting in to the Financial Controller, you will be supporting the firm’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in billing, accounting and financial reporting. Billing and reconciliation, accounts payable and providing finance related project work will be the main areas of responsibility.

Your key responsibilities as Senior Finance Assistant will include performing monthly reconciliations between the practise management and accounting systems, preparing and submitting VAT returns, generating and distributing monthly WIP reports and managing the month end billing deadline process. You will also reconcile the accounts payable ledger in preparation for the year-end audit, complete regular bank reconciliations maintaining accurate financial records, accurately and timely process received invoices and assist in responding to accounts payable queries.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the legal sector and an accounting degree or qualification is desirable. You will have a good understanding of VAT preparation and submission, and you will have excellent organisation skills, attention to detail and strong communication skills.

The salary on offer is £45,000 - £50,000 per annum.
