A hugely successful business in Greenford, north west London is looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager, who as well as being hands on, also brings a wider commerciality to the role, offering process improvements and demonstrating excellent benefits knowledge.
Although this is a management position, you only have one report and as such will be expected to be hands on in your role.
In order to be suitable it is essential that you have experience of administering and overseeing the company payroll, using Sage 50 Payroll, demonstrating excellent knowledge of benefits and a good understanding of how changes in salary affect the wider benefits and pensions. In addition, you will always look for continuous improvement to processes and will be confident managing a manual and automated payroll environment.
Currently the payroll is a fairly manual process in terms of information gathering and data entry, working extensively with Excel and Sage 50, so you will need to have experience and be comfortable working in an environment where there are no automated internal systems, have strong attention to detail, good numerical and administration skills, as well as previous experience working with time and attendance systems.
Having said that, there are plans to become more automated and they also have plans to implement new HR system, ADP. Therefore, any experience with implementing either of these solutions would be considered highly desirable.
The company runs a small payroll on a weekly and fortnightly basis, but the main payroll is done monthly for around 150-200 staff, so the ideal candidate will have experience of working in a similar sized environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone to head up the payroll function for a successful and well known UK business. Working hours are 9-5pm and they offer a starting salary of circa £40,000 - £43,000, dependant on the skills and experience you bring to the role.
