The Ashdown Group has been commissioned by The Royal Foundation and The Earthshot Prize to identify an accomplished Media Manager to join their team. As a truly global and inclusive organisation, applications are welcome from candidates based internationally.
The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge unites people to tackle some of today’s biggest challenges. They recognise that when people come together, they can achieve great things and they use their passion and unique influence to make a lasting difference on the issues that matter most to society. The Earthshot Prize is a not-for-profit start-up which currently sits within The Royal Foundation but will spin out to become an affiliated independent organisation in 2022.
The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism by highlighting the ability of human ingenuity to bring about change and inspire collective action.
In order to deliver this audacious vision, The Earthshot Prize (TEP) is now seeking an accomplished Media Manager with consummate communication skills and a growth mindset to support the execution of a global media and public engagement strategy for 2022 through creative storytelling, media management and public engagement.
To be suitable for this role you must have proven experience of delivering a professional communications and engagement strategy. You will be enthusiastic about creating content to engage global media and will compose and edit impactful press releases, web articles and copy for social media channels.
You will have a track record of maximising media engagement and press coverage and will field enquiries around key moments in the TEP calendar. You will also have a meticulous eye for detail and demonstrable experience in conceptualizing, packaging and delivering content that excites and engages global media outlets.
Reporting directly to the Head of Communications, you will combine the ability to write and develop powerful copy, with the interpersonal skills required to build and influence relationships with key stakeholders, including journalists, global media contacts and external partners. You will also have excellent sub-editing, proofreading and design management skills, coupled with the ability to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of content.
The successful candidate will have experience in communications, media engagement, PR or journalism, with an ability to create engaging content for a range of channels. You will have experience in developing campaign content in an integrated way – from writing press materials and pitching stories to global media outlets to developing creative activations and social media content which can engage both media and public audiences alike.
You will have a passion for storytelling, deep knowledge of TEP and the overarching media, public engagement and marketing strategy, coupled with the ability to build relationships with key partners, enabling you to add value to every conversation and facilitate extraordinary collaborations.
TEP is committed to building a diverse team that is representative of all sections of society and to sustaining a culture that celebrates difference, encourages authenticity, and creates a deep sense of belonging. They recognise that by encouraging innovative and creative ways of thinking and fostering an inclusive culture they will collaborate more effectively and achieve better outcomes.
You will exemplify the values of transparency, collaboration, inclusion, curiosity and kindness, and will have an aptitude for presenting complex ideas clearly and concisely and in a way that motivates the audience to action.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a confident and creative Media Manager to make a profound contribution to the growth and development of a truly inspiring charity with a transformative global vision.
