A rare and interesting opportunity has arisen to join a successful sports and leisure business as they enter the next stage of their rapid growth. They are looking for a qualified accountant to assume a Head of Department role with the ability to build a modern accounting and report function.
Reporting to the board and initially operating as the sole person in finance, you will support the business's day-to-day finance operations while contributing significantly to reporting, strategy and investor relations. This role gives the successful candidate the opportunity to deliver, analyse and manage.
This position needs a vibrant individual who is a CIMA, ACCA or ACA finalist, the client is also happy to consider a candidate who is newly qualified with previous managerial experience. You will need to demonstrate a confident yet affable communication style which builds instant trust. You will be presenting financial information and company reports to senior, experienced investors, who will be keen to ask questions and rebut wooly forecasts.
Your other daily duties will include:
- Initially you will need complete 'low end' accountancy tasks
- Month end reporting and validation
- Reviewing core financial and membership KPIs against target, recommend business solutions
- Reviewing and improving the existing processes and tools
- Supporting the CEO with competitor analysis and pricing
This impressive opportunity will suit a highly motivated individual with a comprehensive understanding of financial investments, although this is not essential to securing the position. Instead it is imperative that the successful candidate is a driven, dynamic individual accustomed to financial performance analysis and reporting, with managerial experience and who is highly proficient in Excel.
