An expanding and innovative technology company is looking for a talented Linux Systems administrator / Engineer with some database skills to be based remotely, with some travel into the East London data centre as required (therefore needs to lives close to this location).
Reporting into the Head of Infrastructure and joining an ambitious technical team, the successful candidate will be tasked with BAU support, project work including an infrastructure rebuild for one business unit, as well as configuring and maintaining infrastructure to support the sizeable growth plans for another area of the business. Other duties will include working closely with the development team to debug, tune and streamline the business applications.
In order to be suitable for this requirement, you must have proven experience in a Linux Systems Administrator, IT Systems Engineer or similar senior infrastructure-focused role in a fast-paced, dynamic business, ideally in the technology sector. It is essential to have experience maintaining 24/7 high-availability infrastructure environments with in-depth Linux (CentOS / Redhat / Defora) administration experience (server and some desktop) as well as some experience of setting up and configuring databases clusters on the infrastructure (Mongo / Redis / MariaDB / Galera / SQL Server / Postgres), we are not looking for a DBA. Any experience / knowledge with search-engines (SOLR / Elasticsearch), general networking, web server administration, micro-services application architecture / builds or DevOps technologies (Git, ansible, docker, K8s...etc.) would be highly desirable, but is not essential.
