As the IT Support Engineer you will be joining as part of a new team that is being built to support their digital transformation programme. Their digital strategy will deliver a cloud and application-based future with security and accessibility at the heart of it. This IT Support Engineer role will help to ensure colleagues can work in an agile way with the appropriate applications and information easily and securely accessible to them.
As an IT Support Engineer you will act as a point of support escalation to colleagues, help embed modern applications across the organisation, work with our external partners to manage changes and updates and be able to support and communicate with a range of different stakeholders. The remit of this role is broad, covering all elements of our digital offering, including software applications, infrastructure, through to traditional desktop support. Experience of working in a structured support environment, able to follow guidance and instructions and ensure best practice is adhered to is imperative.
Key responsibilities of this IT Support Engineer role include:
Implement, monitor, operate and support digital workplace technologies (endpoint hardware, software, services, and SaaS tools)
Act as a point of escalation for system queries from colleagues and users and become a subject matter expert on a range of systems.
To follow, manage, maintain, and update system documentation and security protocols and map processes to technology.
Support the management and delivery of projects.
Work with stakeholders and vendors to trial and implement system enhancements.
Support the establishment of computing configuration and operating standards in coordination with IT colleagues.
The ideal candidate will have previously worked in an ITIL environment; perhaps as a Desktop Support Engineer, IT Support Analyst, 2nd Line Engineer or other IT support role. You will also have previous experience supporting the following technologies:
Microsoft 365 and Azure platform, security and administration
Network troubleshooting
Experience in support desk software
Experience of supporting and administrating SAAS apps
Experience of using Microsoft and industry security best practices
The salary on offer for this role is up to £42,000 plus benefits.
