The Platform lead (Global Underwriting) is accountable to the platform owner for the platform strategy, design, development, enhancement, delivery, pricing and cost recovery. The role ensures that the Platform is developed and maintained using sound business and technology management practices and it supports business transformation by enabling new capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Business Management
- Creates the strategy and vision of the Platform for which is responsible
- Consults with Platform owner and consumers to assess and anticipate current and future Platform requirements and develops a long-term action plan
- Works with stakeholders to continually optimize the governance and decision-making processes within the Platform
Budget Management
- Collaborates with key business stakeholders to make funding and resource reallocation decisions within each platform
- Manages the Platform’s budget including Change and BAU and makes informed and dynamic investment prioritization decisions
Technology Management
- Coordinates with business, data, and IT architects to align Platform and other architectures
- Oversees Platform operations and guides continuous improvement efforts to support business outcomes
- Defines, tracks, and communicates Platform-specific KPIs to improve the Platform’s adoption and performance
Business Transformation
- Acts as the point of contact for the Platform and works closely with business owners, IT advocates and IT functional leads as required
- Collaborates with business partners to transition business-led technology experiments to the Platform for scaling, wherever feasible
- Recommends business process changes for better Platform adoption

Personal Specification:
Knowledge and Experience
- Previous experience in IT, with proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships
- Previous experience of Budget Management greater than $2m
- Previous significant experience of delivering multiple complex IT projects, preferably covering the use of internal resources, third party (packaged) solutions and outsourced services
- Experience of delivering non-IT projects, including experience around people change management
- Experience working with an Agile methodology preferred.
