A Liverpool based charity is seeking an IT Manager to ensure that the group’s IT network across a multi-site environment is fit for purpose and that appropriate technology is used efficiently throughout the group. This role will manage an IT Assistant and report into the Director of Finance.
In this role you'll:
• Maintain an IT network that meets the needs of the group, developing the network as appropriate. • Main point of contact for all IT related queries.
• Ensure data protection throughout the group in use of technology and network security
• Ensure strong back-up systems are in place to safeguard data in the event of a disaster
• Keep abreast of developments in IT and identify appropriate and cost-effective IT solutions to meet the demands of the group
• Collect feedback from line managers and supervisors regarding the impact of technology
• Facilitate an effective user support system through the management of a Helpdesk function
• Complete monthly reporting of IT activities, unresolved issues, threats and planned activities
• Pro-actively manage IT by ensuring timely and cost-effective updates of hardware and software in line with business needs
• Procure IT hardware and software and maintain licences for software
• Manage relationships and contracts with external providers
• Ensure SLAs are in place with external partners in order to monitor performance
• Ensure contracts are in place to provide cover during holidays and other times of IT Manager absence
• Manage the AV equipment, ensuring always ready for use
• Maintain a register of all IT equipment and submit reports to Finance on time
• Manage iCloud, Dropbox and other external accounts for the group
• Provide maintenance of Exchange and mailboxes
• Provide Windows Server maintenance
• Obtain ITIL certification as necessary
• Maintain the phone system and CCTV
• Lead on all data and non-data aspects of GDPR within the group, liaising with line managers as appropriate to ensure compliance
• Investigate the feasibility and cost effectiveness of achieving ISO 27001 and lead on its implementation if decision taken to proceed
• To ensure that systems are in place to ensure that PCs and laptops collected under the Reuse IT business are properly data wiped in accordance with customer agreements
• To ensure that PCs and laptops collected for reuse are refurbished to a satisfactory standard for onward sale or donation Other
• To develop IT policies in conjunction with the Director of Finance and Social
• Monitor emerging trends and technology changes in IT and provide updates on a regular basis
