A growing medium-sized business is looking for a proactive IT Desktop Support Technician / Engineer to join its small IT team based in the Leatherhead area, Surrey. The successful candidate will be primarily tasked with providing 1st and 2nd line IT software & hardware support for approximately 80 users across multiple sites covering VMware, O365, Windows OS and Active Directory. The IT Manager is looking to train the IT Support Engineer with the goal of ultimately allocating 3rd line support duties too.
In order to be suitable for this role you must have experience working in a Helpdesk Analyst, Service Desk Analyst, Desktop Support Technician, IT Support Engineer or similar role with proven 1st line support skills. It is essential to have good support knowledge of Windows 10, MS Office 365, VMware, Active Directory with Group Policies (ideally Azure AD) as well as general networking and server skills. The ideal candidate will also have some exposure to firewalls, relevant industry certifications (VMware, Microsoft 365 or CCNA) as well as possess a full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle to transport hardware to other sites when needed.
This is a varied hands-on position and a fantastic opportunity to work with a highly experienced IT Manager who is keen to provide training and upskill the IT Desktop Support Technician / Engineer. The role is paying up to £35,000 depending on experience plus benefits including training (up to 3rd line), 25 days annual leave, pension, bonus and private healthcare.
