The Ashdown Group has been commissioned by The Royal Foundation and The Earthshot Prize to assist in their search for an accomplished Director of People & Culture to join their senior leadership team on an initial 12 month fixed-term contract.
The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge unites people to tackle some of today’s biggest challenges. The Earthshot Prize is a not-for-profit start-up which currently sits within The Royal Foundation but will spin out to become an affiliated independent organisation in 2022.
The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism by highlighting the ability of human ingenuity to bring about change and inspire collective action.
In order to achieve this audacious vision, The Earthshot Prize is seeking a commercially astute, empathetic and driven leader with a passion for people and proven track record of delivering and embedding a successful HR strategy to join its senior leadership team. As a truly global and inclusive organisation, applications are welcome from candidates based overseas as long as they are able to relocate to the UK.
Reporting directly to the CEO you will have full responsibility for developing and implementing the people strategy and vision of the charity. You will provide inspirational leadership and embed a high-performance culture built on inclusivity, engagement, collaboration and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on leadership and implementation role, with full accountability for the success of the people function within the organisation as it goes through a period of rapid growth. You will build HR processes and policies to ensure the smooth and efficient running of business operations and will create a recruitment, wellbeing and engagement strategy that attracts and retains an outstanding team. You will have demonstrable expertise in building a comprehensive talent and acquisition strategy that is focussed on attracting diverse talent and creating effective teams.
