An international high-end consultancy with offices around the globe requires a UK based HR professional to look after the needs of the business in Europe and MENA. Collaborating on strategy with your North American and ASEAN colleagues you will be a standalone operation on delivery.
Working from home but with a continuous need to be present in the Reading (1-4 dpw) and central London offices (0-2 dpw), the role would probably suit a person living in the Berkshire, Oxfordshire, north Surrey or west London areas.
The majority of your contacts will be experienced, six-figure internal consultants or employees delivering related support. This is an opportunity to work in complex scenarios, supporting driven and engaged personalities with unique talent needs.
The business would like you to maximise the potential of the consultants by providing an outstanding service, impacting individuals directly, while contributing to the global team. They want you to push yourself to overcome the challenges of retention, succession planning, learning and development, performance, change and communications.
Despite being given goals and objectives, you will have the freedom to innovate through any ambiguity or changing priorities. To do this, you will be expected to have:
- Influence at all levels, be able to empathise, coach, encourage and inspire
- The willingness to get involved (you will be standalone, you won't have an administrator)
- Sound business acumen and be commercially astute
- Recognition of when a change of approach or escalation is required to deliver and an appetite for improving things
- Accountability, pragmaticism
- Compassion and understanding
Specific requirements to define your suitability are relatively fluid. You may be an HR Manager, Business Partner or HR Director but you will definitely have significant experience. Calibre, drive and the ability to inspire confidence are important. We'd expect to see a recent commitment to your roles, maybe 3 or 4 years with a single professional services company, where you can demonstrate that you have caused changed and measured the impact and effects.
There is some travel in the role across the region, perhaps two or three days every 3 to 5 months plus and an annual global camp/conference (usually a 5* resort in the sun, last year in South Africa), usually in January.
The basic salary ranges up to £90,000 but we'd expect to consider applicants currently on £50,000 or above. UK specific benefits are currently limited. A bonus scheme offers an incentive of up to 10%.
