A growing international trade and development organisation is seeking a Group Management Accountant to be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records across the group accounts, with particular focus on UK and Australia income statement reporting and analysis. The role will include line management responsibly over a globally located team of 8 Project Accountants and will be a leading voice in the strategic development of the function.

Deadlines and communication will be a critical focus on this role, ensuring project accounting records, and overhead management are understood, planned, and managed. The role should also be prepared to lead on ad-hoc internal projects to drive forward performance and be keen to travel to international offices as required.

This is a hybrid role (2 days in the Waterloo, London office encouraged the rest work from home) and is paying up to £85,000 plus benefits.

 

  • Responsible for monthly Management Report narrative: WIP/item sold less than cost/margin analysis/performance reporting/Fixed price calculation and adjustments (cost to complete model)
  • Management of Project Accounting Team (project accounting experience/knowledge is highly desirable)
  • Accountable for project related balance sheet reconciliations
  • Responsible for Income Statement variance analysis: Corporate overheads, reported by business unit, Project variance to budget analysis and reporting
  • Management of international shared service accounting team
  • Accountable for accuracy of corporate and departmental data
  • Responsible for FinOps Group Budgets and Business Forecasting
  • Responsible for foreign exchange currency hedging management
  • Responsible for foreign exchange currency hedging management
  • Internal KPI management
  • Lead regular system training and accounting support meetings with local staff

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified ACCA / CIMA
  • Understanding of project accounting
  • At least 3 years practical and relevant experience covering key areas such as trial balance review, KPI review and analysis, Intercompany review.
  • Advanced Excel skills is required
  • Managerial experience is essential, ideally of a global finance function
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience is highly desirable
  • Power BI / Dynamics report writer would be highly desirable
