Graduate Software Engineer/ C++

  

Our client, a growing software solutions company, within the Aviation and Military sector, are looking to expand their engineering team and seeking, either a recent IT graduate, or a second jobber, with experience of coding with C++.  This would be the ideal opportunity if you are looking for a role that challenges you technically and offers the opportunity to expand your knowledge within a stimulating environment. The role will be based at the company’s site in South West London, for an initial period and then move to a hybrid pattern with 3 days office based.

You will be joining a team of engineers who are experts in their field and passionate about what they do. Working with the company’s well established messaging products, which are deployed in critical environments, ensuring compatibility across multiple protocols and legacy systems.

This would be ideal for someone who really enjoys getting to grips with how systems work and wants to contribute to solving complex engineering problems. The following  tasks are not exhaustive but will give you a good indication of what will be involved which will include:

Adding new features and extending capabilities in response to new standards and client requirements. Debugging clients reported issues and improving code base and product delivery over time. Working with servers. gateways and protocol bridges. Elevating security capabilities and improving system delivery and maintenance of products. Working with the wider team to further enhance products and contribute to the adoption of newer programming languages.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in Computer engineering or IT related subject
  • Must have some experience of writing code with C++
  • Able to demonstrate a dedication to learning and personal development,
  • Confidence to work with large codebase
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and debug problems
  • Networking and networking protocols (desirable)
  • Security policy concepts (desirable)
  • Lots of Initiative and ability to work autonomously

 

As well as a salary of £38K-45K including London Weighting the role offers hybrid working and a very generous benefits package including 28 days holiday, company performance bonus. 10% company pension contribution, profit sharing scheme and Healthcare and Life Assurance.
