A highly respected independent school based in Surrey is seeking a detail-oriented, diligent, and personable Financial Controller to join their team! This role is based 5 days a week on-site and is situated on acres of beautiful greenbelt land.
Reporting to the Business Director, you will be responsible for leading the overall Finance function for the school; you will be required to analyze financial data and statistics, provide strategic financial support, keep a record of all accounts, and ensure that all data is updated and maintained, as you will be instrumental in ensuring that the school will maintain positive revenue and financial growth.
You will also evaluate and manage risk, ensure compliance with regulations, monitor any and all expenditures, publish financial statements, forecast revenue, and coordinate auditing processes. It is also required that you will assist in formulating sound financial strategies and implement these in order to help achieve targets.
To be considered, you must have proven experience working within either a large or a multinational company, have proven month-end closing experience, have previously prepared statutory accounts, looks at financial controls and risk registers, have liaised with external stakeholders, and have proven accountancy software experience with Sage and Xero. You must also be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
