A specialist technology manufacturing business with international operations and a strong reputation for delivering innovative solutions to global customers is looking for an experienced Finance Director to join the senior leadership team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Finance Director will provide strategic and commercial financial leadership across the business, leading a team of four and partnering with stakeholders across operations, supply chain, manufacturing and sales. This is a hands-on leadership role, balancing strategic financial leadership with active involvement in the day-to-day direction of the finance function and wider business.
Your key responsibilities will include leading the finance function, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, with a particular focus on working capital, liquidity and supporting the business through a complex supply chain environment. You will provide commercial insight to support business performance and strategic decision-making, review and challenge monthly management information, lead Board and investor reporting, maintain strong relationships with shareholders, banks and external advisers, and ensure robust financial controls, governance and statutory compliance across the business.
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with previous Finance Director or equivalent senior finance leadership experience within a manufacturing, engineering or operationally focused business. You will have experience working in a private equity-backed SME, managing cash flow and working capital where cash is tightly controlled, and operating within complex supply chains with long supplier lead times. Exposure to international trade and overseas operations would be highly advantageous. You will be a commercially minded leader who enjoys partnering with operational teams, influencing at Board level and taking a hands-on approach to supporting business performance.
This role will be based at the company’s head office near Newton Abbot, with a minimum requirement of three days on site per week.
The salary on offer for this role is £80,000 - £90,000 per annum.
