Enterprise Network Engineer

An established and renowned industry leader is seeking an enterprise level Network Engineer to join their growing team based in the Euston area, central London.
Reporting into the Head of Infrastructure and as part of a sizeable infrastructure/ network team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing enterprise class network to multiple sites throughout the UK using the latest network technologies from Cisco, FortiGate, Checkpoint and Netscalers Load Balancers. The role will involve designing system configuration, directing system installation, as well as defining, documenting and enforcing system standards. Further duties will include:
  • designing and implementing new solutions with service providers
  • maximising network performance & resolution by monitoring performance, troubleshooting outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimisation
  • undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments
  • establishing and enforcing network policies
  • administering the firewall environments
  • reporting network operational status
  • upgrading data network equipment
  • configuring routing and switching equipment
In order to be suitable for this role you must have experience in a Network Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Administrator or similar network (office & data centre) focussed role ideally in a large enterprise high availability environment. It is essential to have experience of designing and setting up large network environments along with Cisco switches, Checkpoint load balances like Netscalers. The ideal candidate will also have experience of planning and delivering infrastructure/ network projects, such as office moves when zero server downtime is required, firewall migration (Checkpoint to Fortigate), infrastructure / network refreshes & moving into the cloud. A good knowledge of Windows (2012-2019) servers or Linux (Redhat or CentOS) with VMWare is also required. CCNP, CCNA or ITIL certifications will be considered highly beneficial, but are not essential.
This is a key role in a large reputable business that is looking to utilise the latest technologies to give them a commercial benefit. This Network Engineer role is paying a maximum basic salary of £55,000 plus benefits including bonus, pension, life assurance, private medical, season ticket loan and 25 days holiday.
