An educational facility based in the heart of London is seeking a friendly, motivated, and keen Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team on a contractual basis for a maximum of 6 months. This role is OUTSIDE of IR35 and my client is happy to consider both hybrid and remote working.
Reporting to the Director of Funding and Policy, you will lead the successful transition of bespoke college student records and SSRS reports from Oracle to SQL Server. Your background in Oracle to SQL migration projects is essential. Your duties will include advising on optimal practices to enhance the system's performance post-migration, creating comprehensive documentation to support this, and adhering to rigorous testing protocols throughout the project. You will also uphold stringent data integrity standards during the migration process by generating exception reports to identify any system data discrepancies. You will also address any inaccuracies or anomalies through thorough investigations and resolve them as needed.
To be considered you must have proven experience working in a Migration project, moving from Oracle to SQL Server. You must have proven experience in reading, writing, and applying SQL and T-SQL scripts in support of databases in a multi-user environment, proven experience in providing business system front-end and back-end support, and have carried out SQL Server administration including backups, schema, and object management. Proven experience working with Microsoft Server SQL, T-SQL, Oracle SQL, and PL-SQL is essential. A background working in education would be advantageous to your application but is by no means essential.
If this role sounds interesting to you, please apply with your most updated CV for review! My client is looking to appoint this role as soon as possible.
