Data Scientist - Global Insurance Firm

A leading insurance firm is looking to add a Data Scientist to its team. This role is paying up to £65,000 plus 20% bonus and benefits. You can choose to work fully remotely providing you can access either their London or Birmingham office once a month.
The Data Scientist will be responsible for a wide range of duties across operations, risk, pricing, claims and analytics. The main aim being to maintain and improve data products that drive and support the business. You will act as advocate and technical specialist to improve data science and artificial intelligence services and products. Additional responsibilities will include:
Support the Data Science team to develop, implement, maintain, and improve data science, AI, and machine learning services and products
Develop behavioural analytics and pricing models
Develop cyber vulnerability scores for commercial risks.
Portfolio simulation and optimisation models to provide decision support and scenario testing.
Customer analytics to understand our clients’ needs and behaviours
Engineer and develop innovative analytics-ready datasets. Using open and 3rd party data sources such as regex, NLP, NER and entity-resolution
Apply machine learning and automation to manual tasks
To be considered suitable you will firstly need to be passionate about data and working in the global insurance industry. Second to this you will need the below skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s and above degree education.
- Proven experience in a data centric role.
- Strong stakeholder management experience and comfortable in dealing with users globally
- Programming experience in Python, R, Matlab C#, Java or similar OOP language
- Experience in either analytics, statistics, computer science, machine learning, data engineering or software development
