Based near Tower Hill, the Ashdown Group has been engaged by a prestigious professional data and information provider to find an insurance based information specialist.
In the role, you will focus your insurance knowledge on the delivery of client projects while ensuring the statistical databases for over 180 countries are kept accurate and up to date.
You will contribute directly to the data strategy; ensuring that the data is used efficiently, managed and timely reports are delivered to clients both as a product and service.
You'll be preparing statistical documents covering life and non-life insurance data so you'll need to be comfortable in dealing with large sets of data and the use of BI tools, such as PowerBI. Data visualisation and SQL scripting would be advantageous.
In this job role you will have the opportunity to become an industry-wide Subject Matter Expert and the go to person for answers. You will need to be comfortable participating in client meetings and demonstrations within your area of expertise.
Your insurance industry knowledge should include interpreting insurance financial statements, understanding of insurance financial information, such as financial statements, company accounts, and other sector data. Understanding of wider insurance business information, such as economic data, demographic data and the impact of political events.
To be successful in the role you will have the following skills or experience:
- Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- Strong data analysis skills
- Strong and clear communication skills with both internal team members, colleagues and clients
