Successful and entrepreneurial UK business group, is looking for an ambitious, Senior Commercial Management Accountant to join the finance team and with a view to joining the financial leadership team.

This role is hands on management accounting, transactional analysis and reporting, whilst also offering the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Finance on a range of strategic projects.  The group is very entrepreneurial and constantly growing through acquisitions, so experience working in this fast paced dynamic environment is important.

Whilst you do not manage the team, you will maintain an overview of the day to day accounting in the department, made up of circa 12 finance professionals.  You will supervise and mentor, taking a leading role in the department, deputising for the Head of Finance as required and with the view of stepping up after a proven period, up into perhaps a Financial Controller position.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare revenue and cost statements

Management accounts

Distribute statements to client contacts, managing any queries around these

Regularly reconcile statement to accounting balances and settled amounts

Work closely with the team to support onboarding of new clients, helping establish the commercial terms of new agreements and incorporating these into client statements.

To secure this role you will be ACCA or CIMA qualified or part-qualified, be experienced of operating in a fast paced commercial finance environment, be knowledgeable around the latest accountancy technology and be adept at analysing transactions and confident in making recommendations to improve processes.  To stand out, you will have strong Excel skills and also be adept at building relationships with your colleagues and wider stakeholders.

The basic starting salary for this is £50,000 - £60,000, plus generous discretionary bonus for top performers.  To secure the top end of this salary scale, you should have good experience managing or supervising a team and a strong commercial transactional finance background with experience of acquisitions and mergers.  There may be slightly more basic available for a stand out individual.
