Based near Earlsfield/Wimbledon, an accountancy practice is expanding its footprint and requires an additional Bookkeeper to join their team. Already employing a team of 40 professionals they offer forward-thinking solutions to a wide range of multi-disciplined customers.
By utilising the latest cloud-based solutions and a modern work formula, they provide services to meet the increasing needs of SME businesses; they provide accounting support beyond statutory annual accounts.
At this vibrant and fast-growing practice, close to Wimbledon Park station on the District Line (and with on-site parking), you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients across a range of industries; ensuring records are maintained with comprehensive accuracy.
As a Bookkeeper, you are responsible for working with a variety of clients across a range of industries. You will maintain client records and deliver full-service bookkeeping. You will manage your workload to ensure that you deliver to deadlines and against client expectations.
Your responsibilities, in brief, will be:
Act as point of contact - Working directly with clients, you will build strong relationships by attending meetings and occasionally working from client offices. You will deliver an integrated and insightful service across a range of industries.
Bookkeeping - As an experienced bookkeeper you will be part of a full-service team. You will deliver up to trial balance. You will ensure clients records are fully up-to-date, accurate and comprehensive at all times. You may also be required to act as financial controller for some clients, actively dealing with credit control, accounts queries with the clients’ customers and suppliers, as well as making or setting up payments on behalf of the client.
Training - You will share your knowledge to help to train the junior accounting team, ensuring they have a well-rounded and clear understanding of accounting processes and each client business.
Cloud systems - You will be expected to learn a number of standard cloud accountancy applications, with a focus on becoming an expert in the most common, currently Xero.
To be suitable for the role you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Able to produce and reconcile accurate company books up to trial balance
- Proven technical knowledge and understanding of key processes
- Use of cloud-based finance systems, plus Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Confident communication skills, both written and oral

The starting basic salary for a Bookkeeper with the above experience is between £28,000 and £35,000. This salary can rise in line with the delivery of your performance objectives.
