Assistant Financial Accountant - Hybrid working 

A new opportunity for an ambitious and driven Accounts professional looking to make the next move in their career.  If you are currently studying for your ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualifications and are keen to grow your experience within a successful and fast-growing shipping company with a supportive culture this could be for you. As well as hybrid working with two days working remotely and three days based with the team in their Wimbledon offices there is a bonus scheme in place.

The Assistant Financial Accountant will report directly to the Finance Controller and oversee the work of an Accounts Assistant. You will be heavily involved in the preparation of the month end process so must be confident with end-to-end accounting in addition to the transactional accounts function. The successful candidate must have experience with balance sheet reconciliation, P&L statements, accruals and prepayments, journal postings and maintaining the Fixed Asset register. There will be a strong focus on producing regular cash flow and budgetary reports.  In addition you will be producing VAT returns, responsible for bank reconciliation and overseeing the Sales & Purchase ledger function along with Credit Control.  

This would suit an experienced Assistant Accountant who likes to work within a small and very busy team but is also happy to work collaboratively with wider departments within the business. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about their work with a flexible attitude, happy to go the extra mile and who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. As well as being partly ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified and working towards completing your qualification you will have:

Previous experience with end-to-end Accounting  

Confident with month end processes 

Knowledge of Sage 200 desirable & advanced Excel skills  

Able to work accurately to tight deadlines

Highly organised with a great eye for detail

A critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills

 

The role comes with a salary of up to £43,000 plus benefits including pension, quarterly performance bonus and study support. The role is hybrid based with two days a week working remotely.
