Agile Product Owner - Global Insurance Company 
 
A leading global insurance company is looking for an experienced Agile Product Owner to join its growing data function, supporting data strategy and delivering on reporting and BI products in order for the company to get the maximum value from its data.
 
This role is paying up to £70,000 plus 20% bonus and 25 days holiday. Remote working is available providing you can visit either the London or Birmingham offices once a week. 
 
Duties will include:
  • Act as product owner for data reporting and business intelligence

  • Develop products, and support the team to unlock the data benefits 

  • Partner with key stakeholders to produce enhanced intelligence.

  • Devise and monitor appropriate metrics to measure capacity and output from the team in accordance with the data platform strategy

  • Identify and deliver improved and alternative ways of reporting, e.g. outsourcing, automation and analytical tools.

  • Devise innovative process solutions to increase the efficiency of the team and identify opportunities for adding value within the business.

  • Identify change processes and implement through controlled change mechanisms

  • Work in collaboration with other Product Owners / Capability Leads, within the Platform and across Platforms, to maximise alignment and reuse and avoid conflicts and duplication of work

  • Analyse, articulate and implement requirements for changes to data and MI reporting.

  • Prioritise and drive the scoping of data related projects 

  • Act as an ambassador for Data Quality and ensure that data governance best practices are applied 

  • Support the Data Governance team to implement best practice

  • Provide leadership, direction and support to the team 

To be considered suitable you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Project Management and business analysis experience 

  • Power Bi, Qlik, or other visualisation development experience 

  • Data Manipulation: SQL, Alteryx, Excel

  • Experienced in managing and manipulating data

  • Experience working in either financial services or insurance

  • Experience of leading teams through modernisation / transformation journeys

  • Experience working as a change manager, able to understand and advise on how to implement process

  • Understanding of software delivery lifecycle and an understanding of agile methodology.

  • Previous dealings with data manipulation/administration
